Overdue update

Jesse continues to improve, and sounds good on the phone. I haven't been able to catch up to him in person lately, but hope to soon. He'll be starting formal training to get his driving restriction lifted soon if he hasn't already, and hopes to start back to work part time before long.

I really want to see him in person because he's now wearing glasses, and I just can't imagine him with specs.

On the mend!

Well Jesse is home and going through several days of therapy a week
so this is a good thing! He is getting bored and tired of his knee being in pain
but still manages to keep his spirits up for the most part. Thankyou so much
for this page not only is it great for Jesse to read but also for me when he was in the
hospital due to I did not feel up to talking to all of the people he knows and loves.
I will try to get Jesse to post something a bit later it is difficult for him to see the computer and
the keyboard because his vision has really been affected from the injury but the doctors tell
us what does'nt come back can be fixed with glasses or sugery.

Thanks again for all of the continued support.

Looking good, feeling restless

Stopped over and visited with Jesse today. Great to see him, and in my opinion he looks great (yeah, that's relative...) Amazing that for all he went through, the biggest clue is the brace on his leg. To see him, you'd think he'd just screwed up the knee.

He's getting impatient just sitting around and not being able to be productive, and is anxious to have everything working perfect (same as he is with his car, or his sled...)

I'm going to be extending author privledges to him on this blog, so hopefully we'll get that figured out so he can post himself.

Better every day

I talked with Jesse again today, and he pretty much sounded just like he did a month and a half ago. Rehab continues several days a week, and is progressing well. He says he's doing a little better every day.

Cheers,

Matt

Lordy Breaks out!

He's out! Jesse checked out of the hospital Saturday, and is at his mom's house now. He'll be going through a bunch of rehabilitation therapy, but he's very much on the mend. I'm sure his patience will be tried over the next few months, as he's chomping at the bit to get to work, and do his own thing. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I'll be pointing him to this site, so if you feel like saying anything, feel free to post a comment.

April 2nd

I called Jesse today, and he sounds very well. They're going to release him on Saturday, and sounds like he's in a rehabilitative therapy program in TC where he'll attend 3-5 days a week. He's already talking about going back to work, and about looking for a new project/hobby to replace snowmobiling. He feels very fortunate for how everything has worked out. Said he'd figured stuff out, and talked about the fact that they totalled the sled, etc.

He really sounded pretty good, so I thought I'd test him out and ask him his opinion on a trade deal- my old crappy boat for a(nother) snowmobile. He not only was spot on with his advice on the trade, but suggested we go look the sled over together, and volunteered his friends who specialized in that make of sled. He's coming back!

He kept saying how lucky he is, and I let him know that everybody who cares about him feels pretty damned lucky!

I'd been feeling frustrated that I hadn't been able break free long enough to get up and see him lately, so I'm thrilled he'll be back around TC soon, and hope I can catch up to him early next week.

Thanks Eric for keeping the gaps filled in!

Thanks everybody who's been praying and encouraging Jesse!

To Stephanie and Nancy, I know he's your boy, but he's our boy too, and we are all thankful for your love and support!

March 31, 2008

I did not make it up this weekend, but did have a couple unexpected conversations with Jesse over the phone. I got woke up on Saturday morning by my cell phone ringing and “lord cell” on the id screen. I just stared at the phone for a few seconds not sure if I was still sleeping, then it went to voice mail. I was surprised to hear a very normal sounding Lordy on the message. I quickly returned the call and had lengthy conversation with a clear headed Jesse. He talked about Will and Craig coming to visit; we discussed the details of his rehab and even discussed the accident a little. In typical Lordy fashion, he was very apologetic and was thankful that nobody else got hurt.

I got another call on Sunday and he said that he has talked with his employer and he will have a job as soon as he is ready to return. We also talked about his scheduled release date and started making plans for the summer. The Hospital is saying that his scheduled release date is April 9th, and then he will be going to Nancy and Jack’s for a while to continue the full-time rehab program. As soon as Steph and his parents are ready, there will be a welcome gathering and the details will be posted here.
